Landslide!

Is it me, or has there actually been a competitive election in this country?

And whenever I asked people today-- overwhelmingly younger people-- who they voted for, they either said it was a secret or they said "not the LDP."

I should mention that, based on the commentary I hear, this had more to do with the weakness of the conservative LDP than with the strength of the JDP. The LDP retort in this election can, thusfar, be summed-up with the weak refrain: "Can we trust people with little experience in running the country?"

Well, the voters sort of had their say in that.
