On my jaw hitting the the floor...

I haven't had much time to blog on anything lately, much less on the great deal of violence being directed at-- and by-- the Uighurs. From my point of view, a person who has long been aware of ethnic tensions in Xinjiang, it feels a little strange to see them all over the news so suddenly. But the following quote made me go dizzy:

"The incidents in China are, simply put, a genocide. There's no point in interpreting this otherwise." -- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commenting on violence against Uighurs.

So sayeth a fellow who applies a less sweeping interpretation of the Armenian genocide.
